Protesters hold an Albanian flag during an anti-government demonstration in central Tirana on October 20, 2026, as protests continued for an eighth consecutive day over university conditions and demands for the resignation of Albanian PM Edi Rama. The latest rally follows seven nights of violence in the capital, during which protesters and riot police clashed, police used water cannons and tear gas, and demonstrators damaged government offices and shops and set fire to several buildings.
